It’s one of the most controversial conversations in modern medicine:stem cell therapy. For years, this billion-dollar industry has thrived quietly in places likeMexico andPanama, farfrom U.S. regulation. From celebrity athletes to desperate patients, people have flown south ofthe border in search of miraculous healing. But let’s be honest, the practices surrounding it have often been shady at best.
So where does that leave believers, especially pro-life Christians, in a field that’s been clouded by moral compromise and medical secrecy?
“Everything,” says Apostle James Fortune, who joined me on the Apostle’s Digest podcast to tackle the subject head-on.
When Apostle James first introduced me to the idea of umbilical cord stem cell therapy, I was skeptical. The first thought that came to my mind was, “How are they harvested?”
Then I also wondered. “Is it biblical? Are we playing God or are we pioneering here?”
What followed was an unexpected revelation.
According to Apostle James, not all stem cells are created equal. The therapy he promotes uses umbilical cord and placental stem cells collected after a live birth, not from aborted fetuses. In fact, these life-giving cells are often discarded by hospitals after delivery, yet they contain some of the most potent regenerative properties found in the human body.
Far from being a moral gray zone,Apostle JamesFortuneexplainedthat this science simplypartners with God’s original design.
He told me,“Our Creator placed healing potential within the human body itself.”
And my favorite quote... “Stem cell therapy doesn’t replace faith. It works with it.”
In the podcast, we broke down the ethics, science, and faith connection behind this emerging field. We as believers need toreclaim the conversation instead of avoiding it. They expose the corruption and profiteering that have tainted the industry for years, but also reveal where legitimate and ethical innovation is happening right now.
For me, the conversation was nothing short of paradigm-shifting.I didn’t expect the answers I got. This isn’t about playing God. It’s about discovering how much of His healing blueprint we’ve ignored.
